Forbes Bros is currently recruiting a full time, energetic, self-motivated Director, Business Development for our Canadian operations.

Reporting to the VP, Business Development the Director, Business Development plays an integral role in the success of identifying business opportunities for our operations and project teams. Collaborating with the Project and the Executive Leadership Teams the Director, Business Development will develop and manage ongoing relationships with clients and contractors to strengthen strategic partnerships and business relationships for future opportunities.


The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Identify and assess opportunities in various market sectors supported by Forbes Bros to recognize, prioritize and pursue new and existing opportunities for the organization, through careful analysis of requirements/strengths/weaknesses of both existing and prospective clients.
  • Lead meetings with clients and prospective clients; working with project teams to prepare and deliver presentations on service offerings highlighting value propositions of the Forbes Group of Companies.
  • Promote all services offerings of the Forbes Bros Group of Companies to Clients at external trade shows and events.
  • Provide support during the preparation of proposals supporting the overall bid/business development process.
  • Communicate and liaise with Indigenous communities on an on‐going basis and support recruitment in these communities in collaboration with the Human Resources Department.
  • Provide Business Development Representatives with guidance and mentorship where needed.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent education and experience is required.
  • 6‐10 years of experience in a Business Development related role or significant operational construction experience with a client focus.
  • A strong background in development, negotiation and the review of construction contracts is required.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office including word, excel, and PowerPoint and adobe.


  • Excellent presentation and communication skills are essential
  • A self starter with strong organizational, planning and time management skills
  • A strong background in development, negotiation and the review of construction contracts is required
  • Demonstrated ability in developing, nurturing, and sustaining external relationships with clients, and ability to determine priorities and deliver results.


This position may require candidates to:

  • Travel throughout USA & Canada is required (50%)
  • Must maintain a valid drivers licenses & acceptable abstract
