To support operational growth, Forbes Bros is currently recruiting a full-time, self-directed, and service-minded Human Resources Advisor for our Wilson, North Carolina project office.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources (HR) Advisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the HR Department. Working as an HR team member you will influence, provide decision support, and administer employee transactions for all HR functions including data integrity of employee information, recruitment, performance management, and support for our Learning Management system (LMS) "The Vault".

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position will require, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and manage business relationships with division leaders, supervisors, and front-line employees
  • Act as an internal resource to employees and leaders for questions on company best practices, policies, procedures and performance management
  • Provide HR Administrative Support: delivering recruitment support for Shared Services and/or Operations (develop sourcing and job posting strategies, screen, review applications, interviews, conduct references, draft employment offers, and onboard employees), execute employee transactions, provide responses to employee inquiries
  • Collaborate with division leaders in the development or revision of position descriptions. Assist with communication to employees where changes to position, title, or leader occur and advise on compensation placement as per policy
  • Facilitate the on-boarding/orientation process for new employees
  • Facilitate and support the annual performance review process including but not limited to the creation of performance review tools, coaching and training sessions for leaders, follow up emails, and completion tracking
  • Support development in the LMS System, ensuring that the LMS is the primary source of training records, competency assurance, and when required, identifying the need for training or building new training modules
  • Maintain and update employee information in the company ERP system, Viewpoint, including changes in status, performance reviews, hire information, and end of employment details
  • Analyze and leverage data to positively influence change management within the organization.
  • Assist with various ad-hoc projects/HR initiatives as required

Preferred Qualifications:

As a successful candidate, you will have:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • A diploma or undergraduate degree in Business/Commerce, with a specialization in Human Resources, is required.
  • Professional designation or working towards a designation in human resources is considered an asset.
  • 1-2 years' experience in construction or related industry
  • 3- 5 years' experience working within recruitment/employee relations

  • Experience building successful business relationships at all organizational levels, and the ability to influence managers and provide proactive consultation and solutions
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to organize and express ideas clearly
  • Exceptional business acumen and a proven track record of delivering business impacts as a result of work performed

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

This position requires candidates to:

  • Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
  • Travel to various project sites and office locations (20%)
  • Complete background screening and criminal record check
